About LTD Consulting Litigation Discovery & Trial Consulting (“LDT Consulting) is a MCLE Provider. Dimitrios P. Biller is a MCLE Provider Instructor and established LDT Consulting in 2007. Mr. Biller has been a trial attorney for 20 years. He established LDT Consulting to help litigators improve their litigation and trial skills, while receiving MCLE credit. His approaches in significant areas of litigation have been successful for his clients and he wants to share his knowledge and experience with other lawyers.
Mr. Biller was an Associate and Partner at Pillsbury Winthrop for 14 years. As a Senior Associate and Partner, Mr. Biller supervised dozens of lawyers on small, medium and large cases. As a result, he reviewed the work product that these lawyers produced. He was an active member of the Firm’s internal trial training program.
Mr. Biller reached the point in his legal career where he wanted to share and educate litigators of the strategies, tactics and skills in the five most important areas of litigation.
Mr. Biller also served as the National Managing Counsel in charge of the National Rollover Program at Toyota for four and a half years. While Managing Counsel Mr. Biller supervised dozens of lawyers throughout the United States with a variety of skill sets inside the courtroom during trial and before trial in the discovery process. Mr. Biller took a hands on approach to managing cases under his supervision because he took an aggressive position on settlement negotiations and forced many cases to trial for global reasons. In a 36 month period, Mr. Biller managed 12 sophisticated and catastrophic cases to trial, and obtained defense verdicts in all those cases.
These areas include:
• The Practical and Responsible Approaches to Taking and Defending Depositions
• How to Consummate the Best Settlement for your Client
• The World of Electronic Discovery
• The Stages of Civil Trial Preparation
• The Stages of Civil Trial Presentation
Based on Mr. Biller’s supervision of over a 150 attorneys, Mr. Biller identified some shortcomings in key areas that are needed to succeed as a litigator and trial attorney. These areas are not focused on in law school and can only be developed through proper instruction and experience. Unfortunately, Mr. Biller has also seen the negative consequences when attorneys take on matters that they should not because of a lack of skills. Mr. Biller wants to share his knowledge and train attorneys in the five most important areas. LDT Consulting, and being authorized by the State Bar of California to be a MCLE Provider Instructor, has given Mr. Biller that opportunity.
